Efya is in Nigeria to talk about ‘Girl Talk,’ an initiative that’s female involved and is here to help bring out the best in female entertainers in Africa, amongst other sectors in which women are participants
She has been the forerunner for 4 years (this is her fourth year and the last) and before her, the initiative was headed by Becca
One of the highlights of her time as forerunner is that every December, Girl Talk initiative has a sold out show that’s only attended by women as there are no men allowed and the show is taking place, this year, on the 27th of December in Accra at the National Theatre
The major difference between Ghana’s music industry and Nigeria’s is the crowd. There are lots of people who attend shows in Accra, but Lagos’s crowd just blows Efya’s mind. “Lagos is bigger than my whole country,” she adds.
In Ghana, unlike Nigeria, there is no Ghana vs. Nigeria sound issue. It’s just banter that Ghanaians are over and done with. Long ago.
Her record label is affiliated with Wizkid’s record label. So, it means more opportunities and visibility for her
There might be a collaborative album between herself and other signees to Wizkid’s record label; R2Bees and Mr Eazi
