The first #ToolzCharityOfTheMonth is WARIF – Women At Risk International Foundation. The foundation was set up by Dr Kemi Dasilva Ibru to  primarily provide urgent medical care to victims of sexual and domestic violence.  The  WARIF Centre based in Yaba is a safe haven with a team of qualified and experienced medical staff that are able to provide medical attention and counselling. The social welfare needs like shelter, legal aid and vocational skills are also addressed through WARIF‘S collaborations with the Lagos State Government

Their second initiative is the WESP – the WARIF Educational School Program which is a preventative initiative aimed at creating awareness amongst girls in secondary schools equipping them with the tools needed to recognise the signs of abuse and prevent gender based violence through education.

The centre has helped over 360 beneficiaries in the last year through the walk-in services offered and it’s 24 hour confidential helpline.
